Kyrie Irving was born on March 23, 1992 in Melbourne, Australia. Drederick Irving is his father, and Elizabeth Irving was his mother. His family emigrated to the United States when he was a young child. Kyrie grew up playing basketball from an early age, as his father played basketball too when he was younger.
Kyrie attended high school in New Jersey (USA) where he did very well in basketball. He then attended college at Duke Blue Devils though not for very long; then he entered professional basketball.

In the 2011 NBA Draft, Kyrie Irving was selected as the No. 1 overall pick by Cleveland Cavaliers. In his first season, he performed very well. He quickly became known for his great ball-handling skills, his ability to score, and his clever plays.
In 2016, with the Cavaliers and a superstar team mate, he led his team to its first-ever N.B.A. championship. He hit a very famous game-winning shot in the championship series, at the end of the final game. That was a pretty big highlight for his career.
Kyrie spent a few years in Cleveland before joining the Boston Celtics in 2017. In 2019, he joined Brooklyn Nets. As of 2023–2025, he plays for Dallas Mavericks in the NBA.
